Vendor Recommendation: Computer Set-up & Networking

Like most people I am the first to complain and tell anyone who will listen when I have a bad experience, but I do not think we rave enough when we get good or even great service. Today I am going to write about a recent experience I had with getting a new laptop and having it set-up.

First, a little background. About a year ago my operating system crashed on my Dell desktop computer. I had no back-up and 5+ yrs of data stored. Needless to say I was FREAKING OUT since I use my computer for both business and personal purposes on a daily basis. I was referred to a retired guy in Fountain Hills to fix it. After 4 days, yes, 4 DAYS without a computer, he called to tell me that he was able to restore the data, he had backed it up, and had re-installed my operating system but he had not reinstalled my programs yet. I decided to pick the computer up and do this myself since I did not want to go another day without it. It was a long process and took days for me to reload all my programs. I later discovered that key data files were missing. I took the computer back to the original guy but he was not able to help. I ended out having to take the computer to another company that was able to locate the missing data in hidden files. It was weeks before everything was back to normal and I was up and running again….the whole experience was a nightmare.

Fast forward 1 year…I decide to replace my now 6 year old Dell desktop. Of course I did not listen to anyone so I  still had no back up. I had met a guy, Sean Jones, thru a friend a while ago. Sean works for a company that provides business networking services and has over 10 years experience with computers. I gave him a call and explain my previous and current situations to him. I told him I was planning to purchase a laptop to replace my desktop. I could not believe it when he offered to meet me at the store to help me with my decision so that I would purchase a system that met my needs. He spent over 2 hours with me that evening. We scheduled a time a few days later for him to come to my house to set-up my new laptop. He showed up promptly at the time we agreed upon. Based on the conversations we had, he anticipated what my needs were and arrived with a wireless router and an external hard drive for backing up without being asked. He set-up my wireless network, extracted all my data from my old computer, created a back-up, re-installed all my programs, print drivers (everything) then copied all my files to the laptop. I was up and running SEAMLESSLY in a matter of hours. Did I mention his rates are reasonable too?!

Need help with a computer? I highly recommend Sean Jones. He can be reached at 480-338-7708.
